It was a pretty good weekend, Saturday Mom was good, Sunday tired and Monday am we got a call from the nursing home that they rushed her to the ER. She went to breakfast (pureed foods) and slumped over in her wheelchair. She was not responding to them. The ER did a CAT scan and found water on the brain so they sent her to St. Joes hospital (where she had the brain surgeries in May). They found out she had a urinary tract infection and water on the brain. They also were checking to see if she had a seizure. It was tough though since Dad or I weren't there and the nursing home didn't give us a lot of details. They also noticed a bruise on her frontal brain, possible fall or bruise. Dad went home to rest so I stayed with Mom all of Monday. Once she got the IV with antibiotic and fluids, she started talking!! Conversational talking! It was crazy, she saw Hillary Clinton on tv and said her name and that she was running for President. It was great (despite all of the other worries medically that day). Tuesday Aubree had a fever so I didn't get to visit her and we headed back to Vegas. Mom moved out of the ICU on Thursday and returned to the nursing home on Saturday. Hopefully she'll start her therapies Monday and will continue to improve!
